While radar is enabled, going near large groups of entities (sector HQ) may cause huge FPS drops, which can be minor or to an unplayable extext. This bottlenecks neither the CPU nor the GPU.

Thank you for reporting this. Radar performance was improved for the upcoming v0.2.7 game update. Closing this thread as resolved for now.
